Joal Lynn Gramling, SPHR
Principal Human Resources Consultant
Ms. Gramling has 25 years of experience in Human Resources, to include 18 years in Human Resources management and consulting. Her areas of expertise are employment management and employment law; legal compliance, employee relations, HR structure in start-up and growth environments, and mergers & acquisitions.
Previous to, and in addition to providing HR management consulting services Joal held the positions of HR Manager, Americas, with InfoVista Corporation, where she consolidated HR activities and structure and managed solely and successfully the HR aspects of acquisition due diligence and transition of the company’s first acquisition for the Americas region.
Joal also held the position of Manager of Employment & Employee Relations with National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative, where she hired and trained the HR staff responsible for the people aspect of a growing organization. She also staffed and managed the Recruiting & Employee Relations function with the Hair Cuttery retail group of companies (Ratner Companies), where she and her team were successful in helping them attain a position of “employer of choice” in the highly competitive market.
Since 2003 Joal has been an HR Management Consultant working with small to mid-sized businesses regarding HR structure, legal issues and compliance, and all aspects of the employment relationship, both domestically and internationally, within such industries as software, telecommunications, construction, mortgage lending, retail, and aircraft sales.
Joal attended James Madison University, where she studied criminal justice and psychology. Her years of hands-on HR experience are augmented by attaining several certifications within her field, including the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, an Advanced Certification in Employment Law, and Joal is a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® Certified Practitioner, as well as several other assessment tools.
Joal collaborates with trusted HR partners, also experts in their field and function related to HR, for example benefits design and administration, and compensation benchmarking. Joal and her partners have 60 years of collective experience in all aspects of Human Resources.
